The community of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, bids farewell to an era as the Monongahela River Locks and Dam 3, a vital part of history since 1907, begins its journey towards decommissioning. In July, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters initiated the first controlled demolition by using explosives to breach the dam.
