Big news for Moreton Bay’s wildlife! 🐨🦘 A dedicated wildlife hospital and education hub will soon be built right here in City of Moreton Bay with $15 million in funding confirmed for the project by the State Government at today’s Leaders’ Forum. The new facility will mean injured animals like koalas, wallabies and sugar gliders can be treated locally rather than being driven up to two hours just for care. Platypus populations are paddling strong in City of Moreton Bay. They’re shy, they’re elusive, but they’re definitely out there! 👀 Platypuses are popping up all over our City, with monitoring revealing they’re thriving in at least 37 creeks and rivers. Using environmental DNA sampling, Council has detected platypus across all five major river catchments in Caboolture, North Pine, South Pine, Stanley and Maroochy. 😊 The results show our waterways are supporting healthy wildlife, even in some ur
