The Lemp Brewery was a beer brewing company established in 1840 in St. Louis, Missouri that was acquired by the Griesedieck Beverage Company in 1920, which subsequently became the Falstaff Brewing Corporation.

Established in 1840, Johann Adam Lemp’s Western Brewery was located at 37 South Second Street, between Walnut and Elm Streets, near the present site of The Gateway Arch. With business sales rising, a larger storehouse became necessary.

Unlike its competitor the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, the Lemp Brewery was unable to survive family struggles and Prohibition. Yet the Lemps helped popularize lager beer in St. Louis, where it became the beer of choice for later generations.

By the early 1870's, Lemp's Western Brewery was the largest brewery in St. Louis in a field of 30, with E. Anheuser & Company's Bavarian Brewery coming in second. The brewery was the 19th largest in the country, producing 61,000 barrels in 1876.
