Sep 19, 2019 · Your old boat looks great! If you start shopping now, you could probably buy a complete used racing hydro for the C or D class for way less $ than building or buying new. If you're too big for the A boat, then maybe a modern 20SSH or 25XSH or even a CSH would work, but you still may only see 40mph with the KG-7H engine.

I am introducing my 9 and 11 year old boys to boat racing. My intention is to build a couple of boats over the winter - an 8' to 10' hydroplane and a 10" to 11' runabout. Horsepower will range between 5 and 20. We will by running 50s era Mercs that I used to race in the 70s.

Dec 15, 2012 · In closed course racing, when stopped on the course, the driver’s helmet only may be removed when no other racing craft are underway anywhere on the course or when the driver’s boat is tethered to a towboat. The helmet only may also be removed by drivers of stalled boats during point-to-point marathons.
