Gonbo Rangjon is a stand-alone lofty rocky precipice located south of Kargyak village in the Lungnak valley, Zanskar, in the Union Territory of Ladakh in India. It is considered to be holy and referred to as God's Mountain by the local inhabitants who practice Tibetan Buddhism. [1] .

Jul 19, 2024 · Gonbo Rangjon, a standalone mountain peak, next to Lakhang at the base of the Shinkula pass, is popularly known as the God’s Mountain due to religious significance for the Buddhist people of Zanskar valley. The peak can be seen from Shinkula and can also be seen from Kargiakh village.

Gumbok Rangan, a monolith mountain, our camping destination lies in the Zanskar region. It’s called in many similar names viz. Gonbo Rangjon, Gumbo Rangjon, etc. But I’m using ‘Gumbok Rangan’, mainly because this is the name used by Google maps, and Wikipedia both.
