Washington, D.C. City Council Ward 8 Special Election Results
The Eighth Ward’s City Council seat has been vacant since February, when Councilmember Trayon White was expelled after his arrest on federal corruption charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Now, voters in southeast Washington will choose between four Democrats vying to represent them—including Mr. White himself.
Polls close following Ward 8 special election in DC
The polls for Ward 8's special election closed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. And they didn’t even bother to explain themselves. The Daily Show host had some important words for MAGA supporters upset with Donald Trump's reversal on releasing the Epstein files.
White won handily with nearly 30% of the vote, almost 5% more than his nearest contender, Sheila Bunn, with over 80% of the vote counted.
