A new lawsuit filed against the University of Michigan claims the school banned five people from campus because of pro-Palestine protests.

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the University of Michigan on behalf of five individuals who took part in pro-Palestinian demonstrations.

The university filed a complaint against Students Allied for Freedom and Equality, alleging its involvement in demonstrations for an August "die in" protest and a May protest at Regent Sarah Hubbard's personal home.

The civil rights group sued the University of Michigan to challenge the Ann Arbor school's policy that barred pro-Palestine protesters from campus.
