It appears the Atlantic will stay storm free through week three of the hurricane season, with no development expected in the week ahead.

Tropical Weather Forecast - Atlantic remains quiet, Pacific continuing to see developmentIt has been a quiet start to the Atlantic hurricane season as of the middle of June. This will likely be the trend through the next week with Saharan dust still dominating and hostile winds making it difficult for tropical waves to get organized.
Since the start of the Atlantic hurricane season on June 1, hardly any signs of tropical cyclone development have been spotted in the Atlantic Basin.
Tropical Storm Erick formed in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and has a high likelihood of becoming a hurricane on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a dangerous severe weather threat continues across the central U.S.

There has not been a named storm so far in 2025 in the Atlantic. Hurricane watchers think the next week will be quiet as well. The eastern Pacific, on the flip side, has had three named storms so far, including one hurricane. The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season lasts until Nov. 30.
