Gov. Gavin Newsom says he’ll ask voters to decide on new districts in November as California seeks to challenge GOP-controlled states redrawing maps to favor Republicans in the midterms.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) announced Thursday plans to order a special election in November for voters to decide whether to approve new congressional maps to redistrict California House seats in favor of Democrats.

Newsom accuses President Trump of trying to rig the midterm election by redrawing congressional districts in Texas and other states to favor Republicans.
