Shohei Ohtani came out of his pitching debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers in good order, even if he was his own worst critic.

Ohtani’s 28-pitch inning Monday was his first in a major-league game in nearly two years. All signs point to him pitching again on Sunday against the Nationals.

It wasn’t a perfect performance by Shohei Ohtani. But Monday night’s long-awaited return to the mound marked a resounding success for Ohtani and the Dodgers nonetheless.
