According to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart, the Astros traded for shortstop Carlos Correa in a deal with the Minnesota Twins. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported the Twins will pay $33 million of the remaining $103.42 million on Correa's contract.

Houston is playing Correa at third base for the first time in his career to take over Paredes's spot. Days after the Astros traded with the Twins to bring Carlos Correa back to Houston in order to replace the injured Isaac Paredes at third base, the team offered a pretty big update on Paredes's injury status.

The Minnesota Twins' decision to trade Carlos Correa may have inadvertently set the wheels in motion on another major deal the team made last Thursday.
