The New York Yankees placed superstar Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list on Sunday due to a right flexor strain, and he'll only be utilized as a designated hitter upon his immediate return.

The Yankees, who entered Tuesday with a 57-49 record and a 5½-game deficit in the American League East, have attempted to help offset Judge's absence by acquiring two new hitters over the last few days: third baseman Ryan McMahon and utility infielder Amed Rosario.

Aaron Judge is on the IL. When Judge returns to the lineup, Aaron Boone has made clear Judge will exclusively DH until his elbow is 100% healthy and ready to throw from the outfield.
