Washington Capitals Announce Stanley Cup Championship Plaque Unveiling at Washington Harbour Ice Rink in Georgetown
Capitals players Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie, who visited the fountain in 2018 during their Stanley Cup celebration, will make a special appearance and participate in the unveiling ceremony. Monumental Sports Network’s Alexa Landestoy will serve as the event host.
Capitals to honor fountain where Alex Ovechkin swam with Stanley Cup
On Friday, the franchise will unveil a plaque next to the Washington Harbor fountain in Georgetown where Alex Ovechkin famously ditched his shirt and swam with the Stanley Cup in 2018. Stanley Cup champions T.J. Oshie and Nicklas Backstrom are expected to attend the celebration.
