BOSTON — Boston Mayor Wu announced that the city will begin fining Republic Services amid the ongoing trash collector strike because several neighborhoods can’t keep up with the overflow of garbage.
The ongoing work stoppage is “taking an unacceptable toll on Boston’s residents, businesses, and neighborhoods," Mayor Michelle Wu said.
Republic Services provides waste collection, recycling and disposal services. It handles residential, commercial and industrial waste management through an extensive network of facilities.
