A hit-and-run crash left a pedestrian dead Wednesday, the Sacramento Police Department said. Officers believe DUI was a factor in the woman's death.

Officers arrived at the scene and found an injured woman who had been hit by a vehicle while walking along North B Street, Gamble said. Medics arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s name and age after her family has been notified.

Sacramento police on Sunday commended North Area patrol officers and a K9 unit for the recent arrest of a suspect in possession of two illegal firearms, authorities said.

A Sacramento police patrol car was involved in a crash Monday morning in the Hagginwood neighborhood, officials said. Emergency medical services were dispatched around 6:33 a.m. to Arcade Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard.

Officers responded to the crash on North B Street near Dos Rios Street shortly before 8 p.m. The woman died on the scene, officials said.
