A teenage Josh Brolin quickly got humbled by Steven Spielberg while filming 1985’s The Goonies. The actor, who’s now 56, recently looked back at his early acting days on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Literally!

Josh Brolin has proven himself to be a prolific actor. He played Thanos in the MCU, was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Dan White in Milk, and was recently cast in a villainous role in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man.

Brolin, who had a breakout role in “The Goonies” which Spielberg created the story for, recalled during SiriusXM’s “Literally! With Rob Lowe” podcast how Spielberg advised him to “just act” instead of overthink the part.
