DOGE’s Elon Musk should turn his $2-trillion hatchet to wasteful and perilous U.S. nuclear weapons modernization plans

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick revealed Elon Musk made an agreement with him to cut $1 trillion from federal spending via the Department of Government Efficiency. Nearly a month has passed since Musk began his volunteer position with DOGE under the White House Office of Management and Budget.

President Trump has tasked Elon Musk with an enormous job of searching the federal government and rooting out inefficiencies and waste. But Musk’s initial, often chaotic, infiltration of various departments has set off alarm bells.
