The Smithsonian said that it would update an exhibit at the National Museum of American History to reflect all impeachment proceedings in U.S. history after a placard was removed last month.

The museum's decision to remove a placard referring to President Donald Trump from an impeachment exhibit sparked concerns over Trump's influence on the cultural institution.

The Smithsonian clarified on Aug. 2 that aesthetic reasons were behind the removal of a placard with references to Trump in an impeachment display.
