As gene therapy maker Sarepta Therapeutics tangles with FDA over its Duchenne treatment, patients and their families are caught in the middle.

Shipments will halt by close of business Tuesday evening, the company said. Sarepta had initially rejected the agency’s request, which was issued Friday.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is planning to ask Sarepta Therapeutics to voluntarily stop all shipments of its gene therapy Elevidys, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday.
