The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves completed their pre-game ceremonies but then entered a rain delay at Bristol Motor Speedway. The game will not start at its originally-scheduled first-pitch time of 7:15 p.m.

The Atlanta Braves have won the Speedway Classic. The game finished with a 4-2 score, sending the Braves home to Atlanta with the win. The Speedway Classic was the first Major League Baseball game ever played in Tennessee,

The famed racetrack has been converted to host baseball for the showcase. Over 85,000 fans were expected on hand for the first-of-its-kind event. MLB's previous attendance record was 84,587 fans at a 1954 game in Cleveland featuring the New York Yankees.
