LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire (WMUR) – A cat who went missing in New Hampshire turned up more than 700 miles away from home. The Ambler family said their cat Kumiko was last seen months ago in Londonderry, New Hampshire. However, the family recently received a surprising call from someone who said their cat had been found in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

After eight months and a 700-plus-mile journey, a lost cat was safely reunited with its New Hampshire family after being found by the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “Crouching Tiger came to us as a stray,” the Humane Society said in a Jan. 8 Facebook post. “We never imagined how far she’d traveled from home.”

Barrels of firefighting foam were collected around New Hampshire and sent to Ohio. Last month, remnants of the foam returned to New England to be tested.

Crouching Tiger' ended up at the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Using her microchip, the humane society was able to connect with her family 700 miles away in New Hampshire.

A man wanted in multiple retail thefts totaling more than $60,000-worth of electronics was spotted at a Walmart in Gorham, New Hampshire, on Thursday before fleeing police, setting off a chase. Gorham police say Zaire Ruffin is believed to be a member of a larger crime syndicate.
