Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has opted to shoulder the blame for the decisive final two plays in his team's latest loss, a 114-112 defeat at the hands

When Boston needed a stop, the calls the Celtics coach made proved disastrous, and afterward took responsibility for the loss: "I didn't help them close it at the end."

Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown has not been himself all that often so far this season. What might be bugging the Georgia native, if anything? Rumored as a potential trade candidate ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 6 deadline, Jaden Springer hopes to stick around with the Celtics.

Joe Mazzulla took the blame for the late-game miscues, saying he put his players in poor position but it was evident that Horford’s absence proved costly in that spot since Kornet has not played in crunch time for much of the season.

Mazzulla tried to hire Redick on as a Celtics assistant in September 2022. Redick has since shifted from working in the media to coaching the Lakers.

Jayson Tatum struggled from the field shooting 5-14 with 19 points while Jaylen Brown carried a majority of the load shooting 10-23 and finishing with 28 points. Payton Pritchard added 15 points off the bench including the unsuccessful full-court heave as time expired.

The Boston Celtics are set to cross swords against their conference rivals Chicago Bulls in a regular season matchup on Wednesday.
