The Austin Parks and Recreation Department also announced Friday all park restrooms and drinking fountains will be closed Saturday mid-morning, with plans to reopen on Thursday. City workers will make efforts to winterize those facilities as well.

The city announced the completion of road improvements along San Jacinto Boulevard and Trinity Street earlier this month, a project aimed at enhancing transportation options and improving safety.

Those driving in North or Central Austin during the long weekend can expect road closures and possible traffic disruptions beginning Jan. 18.

With weather conditions rapidly evolving in parts of Texas this week, including a winter storm warning, the Texas Department of Transportation announced it would close multiple offices on Thursday. According to the National Weather Service,
