On deadline day, the Tigers added starting pitcher Charlie Morton from the Baltimore Orioles, and relievers Paul Seawald of the Cleveland Guardians, Rafael Montero of the Atlanta Braves, Kyle Finnegan of the Washington Nationals, and Codi Heuer of the Texas Rangers.

The Tigers added a flurry of new arms to their organization. It could make for another creative approach to pitching down the stretch.

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers targeted pitching at the trade deadline, but instead of aiming for one big splash, they opted to throw a handful of pebbles across the pond. The Tigers went quantity, but that doesn’t mean they skimped on quality, said Scott Harris, the Tigers’ president of baseball operations.
