Scottie Scheffler maintains a substantial lead in the FedEx ... He missed the cut in Scotland and fell a spot to 29th. The other winner on the PGA Tour last week, William Mouw at the ISCO Championship, didn't crack the top 70, but he gave himself a chance.

Brian Harman and Haotong Li are tied at 8-under to start the day, too.
