UConn Huskies basketball player Paige Bueckers is headed to the WNBA after being chosen by the Dallas Wings as the No. 1 pick in Monday night's draft, just over a week after leading her college team to victory in the 2025 March Madness tournament.

NEW YORK — Eight days after guiding UConn to its first national championship in nine years, the Dallas Wings selected Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 pick in Monday’s 2025 WNBA Draft.

Ahead of the draft, Bueckers signed a three-year deal to join 3-on-3 women’s basketball league Unrivaled. Her first-year salary for the 10-week season, which takes place during the WNBA offseason, will exceed what she would make in all four years of her $348,198 WNBA rookie contract, according to an ESPN report.
