The Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant has recently shut down the possibility of teaming up with a Western Conference superstar.

The latest twist in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes seems to have the Timberwolves on the outside looking in as teams are assembling their best offers to entice the Suns to deal the 36-year-old former MVP.

Kevin Durant has been closely linked in trade talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Shams Charania recently reported on Durant's lack of interest in joining the Wolves.

Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Monday that Kevin Durant has “no desire” to be traded to the Timberwolves, but the Suns and Wolves are still hoping he’ll warm to the idea, league sources tell Sam Amick and Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

All along, we've heard that three teams were at the top of Kevin Durant's list: the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat. All three made varying degrees of sense. There was not, at least initially, any separation within that group. They were listed together.

Yes, Durant is aging. And yes, he could bolt in a year. But if you think he’s the guy who gets you to the Finals, you make the call.
