Making new memories is a key reason to create a tax increment financing district in the area of the former White Lakes Mall, a Topeka councilman says.

The tradition continued through 2020. Members of the Topeka History Geeks Facebook group spoke positively this past week on that site of the role in that effort played by Chandler, who died in 2019.

A potential buyer could be in place to keep a piece of Topeka history alive.
