Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer spoke out and hinted that the team could have more moves coming.

What they've accomplished so far: Cincinnati has rebuilt its bullpen to some extent, re-signing Emilio Pagan while adding Pierce Johnson and Caleb Ferguson to their mix. Outside of that, it's been a relatively quiet offseason after an early dalliance with then-free agent Kyle Schwarber.

Castro became a free agent at the conclusion of the 2025 World Series. On Thursday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN reported that the 28-year-old veteran signed a two-year contract with the Colorado Rockies. Castro is a career .244 hitter with 56 home runs and 75 stolen bases for the Detroit Tigers (2019-22), Twins (2023-25) and Cubs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract with former Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker.

The Cubs have acquired pitcher Edward Cabrera in a trade with the Marlins that sends top outfield prospect Owen Caissie, as well as infield prospects Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo De Leon, to Miami.
