Colorado state lawmakers begin work today, August 21, in a special session to address a $1.2 billion revenue shortfall and revise the state’s budget following changes to the federal tax code.

Starting this fall, teachers will only be allowed to display three flags in their classrooms: the United States flag, the Colorado state flag, and the city of Colorado Springs flag.

Moving forward, only U.S. and Colorado state flags, military flags, and district-approved banners will be allowed in classrooms.
