The deadly terror attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney comes amid a significant spike in antisemitic rhetoric and attacks in Australia.
Police said around 1,000 people had attended the Jewish celebration, which was held in a small park off the beach.

The father-son duo behind Sunday's Bondi Beach shooting were motivated by "Islamic State ideology," Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
Police and local media reports said the shooting began while some people were attending a Hanukkah party on the beach. At least 40 people were hospitalized.
The Philippines Bureau of Immigration said on Tuesday that the two alleged gunmen behind the mass shooting at Sydney's Bondi Beach travelled to the Philippines on November 1 aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR212 from Sydney to Manila and onward to Davao.
