Tottenham Hotspur have named Thomas Frank as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. The 51-year-old Dane joins Spurs after a successful seven-year tenure at Brentford, where he guided the club to promotion from the Championship and established them as a competitive Premier League side.

As Thomas Frank gets to work at Tottenham, neither party will need reminding of the risks. Daniel Levy’s decision to sack Ange Postecoglou after leading the club to a first trophy in 17 years was a bold one, for all Spurs ’ dismal Premier League form made it almost inevitable.
