Three games against the NHL’s best gave the Flyers five out of six points and plenty of lessons learned as the season heads to the Olympic break.

Owen Tippett, Matvei Michkov, and Denver Barkey have become key players for the Philadelphia Flyers this season. They are scoring goals, thereby creating chances at the right moments, showing how important young talent and a solid team are.

Early in the third period, Tippett's second tally of the game (17th) and a Matvei Michkov deflection goal (11th) re-opened a two-goal edge for Philly. In the middle stages of the frame, Tippett scored (SHG, 18th) on a shorthanded breakaway to complete his hat trick. Later Michkov collected his second goal of the night (ENG, 12th).
