The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is beyond the world’s “worst fears,” Australia’s government said Friday, as reports of mass starvation and disease across the war-torn enclave persist.

As Israel, with American support, continues to batter Gaza, there is a growing rift in the world — including in the West — with regards to Israel & Palestine. But it is unclear what this will amount to on the ground.

Carney also accused Israel of violating international law over the blocking of Canadian-funded aid delivery to civilians in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

Prime Minister Mark Carney on Thursday accused the Israeli government of failing to prevent a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and of violating international law by denying aid.

Some of Israel’s closest allies have stepped up criticism of its restrictions on aid to Gaza, where doctors and aid organizations say people are dying of starvation.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said during a meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan on Monday that Canada will 'fully reject any attempt to separate, to change the demographic or territorial make up' of occupied Palestinian territories.
