The Giants lost a Gold Glove defender for the second straight day on Wednesday, as they were forced to place catcher Patrick Bailey on the 10-day injured list with a neck strain and select fellow backstop Logan Porter from Triple-A Sacramento.

The loss ended a seven-game win streak for the Giants, who head into Dodger Stadium with a 40-29 record, a game behind the Dodgers as the longtime geographical rivals will play their first series of the season. The Giants have won 17 games this season while trailing by multiple runs and felt the sting of being on the other end.

The Giants designated Basabe for assignment Wednesday.
