Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez was hit by a pitch and taken out of Monday night’s against the Atlanta Braves with a bruised left elbow. Perez was hit in the left elbow in the third inning by a 94 mph fastball from Spencer Strider.

The club announced that Friday’s series opener was postponed due to inclement weather. Heavy rains arrived around 5:10 p.m. Central and both teams were notified that the game will be rescheduled as a part of a split doubleheader on Saturday.
