Former NFL running back Clinton Portis enters the college football coaching fraternity after accepting the running backs coach and run game coordinator position at Delaware State University under new head coach DeSean Jackson.

Clinton Portis, who rushed for just under 10,000 yards over nine NFL seasons and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has been named DeSean Jackson’s running backs coach and run game coordinator at Delaware State.

Delaware State University’s football program has added another NFL great to its HBCU football coaching staff. Newly hired head coach DeSean Jackson has appointed Clinton Portis as the team’s running backs coach.

The announcement marks a significant step in Portis' post-playing career, as he joins the staff of newly appointed head coach DeSean Jackson, another former Washington football star.
