Topps just announced a fantastic Darryn Peterson Bowman U NOW card, but its only available for a few days. Plus a quick look at the upcoming NBA draft class, possibly the best in 20 years.
It’s the hallmark of a superstar. So then, it was no surprise that when Peterson was struggling to score Tuesday night, he went into his bag of tricks for something else: He began driving and drawing fouls in KU’s thrilling comeback victory over TCU, 104-100.
Kansas is 11-4 after a miraculous home comeback Tuesday against TCU. Peterson, the star freshman guard, has played in six of KU’s 15 games, but finished only one, with a mysterious leg condition that Jayhawks coach Bill Self has now explained about 85 different ways.
Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson has played just 159 total minutes out of the Jayhawks' 610 possible minutes through the first 15 games. Despite that limited sample size, NBA scouts remain infatuated with his natural scoring ability and NBA-ready offensive touch.
After an excellent start to the season, the Kansas Jayhawks’ defense has struggled since the start of conference play. Perhaps most alarming, opposing teams are exploiting KU’s switch-heavy defense — a defense that’s helped make coach Bill Self’s squad one of the best in the country at defending the perimeter.
Peterson had to leave Kansas’ Big 12 opener Saturday at UCF with cramps after scoring 26 points in just 23 minutes.
There's a lot to praise about the top three, but in total, this looks like one of the best draft classes of the last decade.
Darryn Peterson got back on the court for No. 17 Kansas, though couldn't stay long enough to help the Jayhawks get a win.
Some fans have grown concerned Peterson could be shut down for the long term, or even the season, at some point, but coach Bill Self said there has been no such discussion of that idea. (Peterson is listed as probable for Tuesday’s game vs. TCU.)
Darryn Peterson, Bennett Stirtz, Lauren Betts and many more college basketball stars are battling this weekend. Here's how you can catch all of the action!
