Before focusing in solely on basketball, Caitlin Clark played a number of sports growing up—including tennis. Clark said that growing up, Serena Williams was her favorite athlete ever, and an overall inspiration to her as a young athlete.

Clark clearly made the right choice in the end by selecting basketball. She became the NCAA's all-time leading scorer during her four seasons with the Hawkeyes. In her lone year with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, she averaged 19.2 points and a league-leading 8.4 assists, setting the WNBA single-season record for assists.
