Arkansas signed Baylor linebacker Jeremy Evans from the transfer portal, adding experienced depth to a defense being rebuilt under Ron Roberts.

James Franklin and Virginia Tech landed a talented defender from the transfer portal, seeing Baylor's Kamauryn Morgan commit to the Hokies.

The oft-injured Lagway completed 63% of his passes last season for 2,264 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also ran for 136 yards and a score. He missed most of the offseason program while recovering from core-muscle surgery, a sore throwing arm and a strained calf. He also missed time in 2024 with a hamstring injury.

Baylor’s future under Dave Aranda might have just taken a thrilling turn. In a transfer portal season filled with quarterback moves and high-stakes choices, the Bears have snagged one of the biggest names out there.

Hayes Fawcett of On 3 Sports reported Florida transfer quarterback DJ Lagway committed to Baylor. Pete Nakos of On3 originally listed Baylor among the "early schools to watch" alongside Miami and Lane Kiffin's LSU, although other potential landing spots arose since he entered the portal.

At cornerback, the Bears have Kyler Beaty, Leo Almanza Jr, Reggie Bush II, LeVar Thornton Jr, Calvin Simpson-Hunt and MJ Artmore Jr returning from the 2025 roster along with McKelvey currently committed from the portal and Jamarion Richardson from the high school level.

DJ Lagway is currently on his visit to Baylor, and it appears as though he’s getting some one on one time with Bears head coach Dave Aranda. Lagway was spotted with Aranda during Baylor men’s basketball game vs.
